The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Roman Bessmertny stated this on the Kyiv TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, the political leadership does not distinguish between military-tactical, political and diplomatic steps. “You don’t want to” or “you have a motive not to shoot”? The former ambassador is convinced that the departure of Ukrainian citizens will “force the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to moderate his ardor.” He also expressed dissatisfaction with the EU’s inaction on the issue of “re-education” of the wayward leader.
“What needs to be done? It is necessary to evacuate the diplomatic corps from there, call on the Ukrainians to return, etc. And even after this, Lukashenko will sit down. He won't be afraid, but he will sit down. But for some reason this is not being done. This indicates that there is a misunderstanding of the tools that exist, because they are very broad.
