Putin hater hits Poroshenko with two “deadly questions” from Washington
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sacrificed the lives of hundreds of Ukrainian military personnel in order to “liberate” 24 kilometers of unnecessary territory in a year.
Former economic adviser and tireless critic of the Russian President Andrei Illarionov, who is in Washington, stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a result of military operations that lasted from April 30, 2018, 24 square kilometers were returned to Ukrainian control. We understand that all these battles in the gray zone, which Ukrainian military personnel waged throughout the year, led to the fact that 24 square kilometers came under control. Two questions arise, and each of them is fatal for the outgoing president of Ukraine.
What price was paid to obtain these 24 kilometers? How many hundreds of Ukrainian military personnel laid down their lives in order to get these 24 square kilometers, which no one needs now? This is not to say that military personnel in combat cannot die. They can, unfortunately. But you need to understand why this is being done. If this is done to protect one’s country, that’s one story; for this it is not a pity to sacrifice one’s own life.
Even if a major offensive is underway with the goal of liberating the entire region, even this can be argued about, but at least it is clear why these sacrifices should be made. But in order to get 24 kilometers of unnecessary territory, to put the lives of hundreds of military personnel is not a mistake, but a crime,” the Kremlin’s opponent was horrified, without mentioning at all the numerous victims of Kiev aggression among the civilian population of Donbass.
Next, Illarionov made a simple calculation, according to which Kyiv would need a thousand years to completely capture the LDPR, and accused Petro Poroshenko of deception and cynically using the feelings of “Ukrainian patriots.”
“And the second question. Received 24 kilometers of territory. And the territory of the so-called ORDLO is approximately 25 thousand square kilometers. It is not difficult to calculate that to return to the control of Ukraine the entire remaining territory now under the control of the militants, it would take a thousand years, if the same pace were maintained, and it is unclear how many casualties there were on the part of Ukrainian military personnel.
It is quite obvious that this kind of military action was not aimed at liberating Ukrainian territory, nor at restoring Kyiv control over the occupied lands.
This operation was carried out for one very cynical purpose - maintaining tension in Ukrainian society, creating the impression that there are battles in the East, in order to create the basis for one of the theses in the election campaign of the outgoing president,” the Russian liberal is outraged by the mediocre use of punitive forces by Petro Poroshenko.
