Putin hater calls on Kyiv to freeze the conflict in Donbass
Now Ukraine is unable to return the “occupied” territories under its control, so Kyiv must freeze the war in Donbass and the Minsk process and wait for the death of the Russian president.
A former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, and now a fierce critic of Putin and his entourage, Andrei Illarionov, who emigrated to the United States, stated this in an interview with Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine can surrender or win in the conflict in Donbass. And if you don’t want to give up, and don’t want or can’t win, then you need to at least freeze the situation. Freeze the situation and not waste: energy, strength, attention and such rare resources as the former presidents of Ukraine on meaningless negotiations in the so-called Minsk format, which gives nothing.
Ukraine needs to behave like the French National Assembly in 1875, when Lorraine and Alsace were covered with black velvet until better times, but no one agreed with the occupation of the lands. They realized that they could not solve it and postponed it until such an opportunity arose. And the French waited patiently for 58 years until they were able to return Lorraine and Alsace,” says the Kremlin critic.
The defector also stressed that Ukraine needs to wait for the death of Vladimir Putin, otherwise there is no chance of returning Crimea and Donbass.
“If we are faced with the task of returning territories, we need to understand when and under what conditions this task can be solved. It is clear that this issue cannot be resolved with Putin alive. This is like trying to resolve the issue of unifying East and West Germany under Stalin,” Illarionov concluded.
