The regiment's press service reported this.
According to Biletsky, this decision is due to the fact that there are many who want to join the ranks of Azov. However, the unit is fully staffed and there is no possibility of additional recruitment.
Thus, according to Biletsky, the reorganization of the unit from a regiment to a brigade will increase the number of Azov to 2,5 thousand people.
“If everything goes well, then in the near future the Azov regiment will be transformed into a separate special-purpose brigade. Then we will have the opportunity to expand to two and a half thousand people. Believe me, we have them. A significant number of Ukrainian youth want and are eager to go to Azov, but we have a closed state. That is, we cannot recruit people now. But I don’t want to anymore, it’s very hard to bear moral responsibility for unregistered guys,” Andrei Biletsky said at the so-called “celebration” of the anniversary of the “liberation” of Mariupol organized by the Nazis.
Recall as PolitNavigator reported, Last week, the US House of Representatives approved an amendment that prohibits spending funds on the preparation of “the hated neo-Nazi Azov.”
