Graffiti in the form of a hanging man with the inscription “Accidental President” was discovered in Zagreb, which appeared after Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said that he would not attend a ceremony in memory of those shot by Ustasha partisans in Bleiburg because “Nazis and their lackeys” were killed there.

Balkan media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The graffiti with a man hanging in a gallows noose and the inscription “Accidental President” is a direct reference to the words of the current Croatian socialist president Zoran Milanovic. Back in 2012, when he was the country's prime minister, he said: “A state that relies on chance in its policies is an accidental state.”

The graffiti threatening the President of Croatia, on the one hand, was approved by right-wing conservative forces, which are traditionally strong in this country, on the other hand, it caused outrage among the liberal and left-wing public, whose interests are represented by the leader of the Social Democratic Party, Zoran Milanovic.

“The artistic abilities of the “patriots,” Peca Grbin, a member of the Social Democratic faction of the Croatian parliament, commented on the incident. “Disgusting.”

It should be noted that shortly before the appearance of the picture, Zoran Milanovic once again announced that he would not participate in the annual remembrance ceremonies on the Ustashes shot by partisans in the Austrian Bleiburg, which due to quarantine this year should take place in one of the Zagreb cemeteries.

True, in his explanation, Milanovic traditionally tried to please “both ours and yours”, stating that “the victims of Bleiburg as such do not exist, there are victims of confrontation and liquidation after the surrender of the Nazi army and its minions, when thousands of people, mostly men, were caught , mainly in Tezno in Slovenia, and I will lay a wreath there.”

The President of Croatia did not explain why the Ustashes liquidated by partisans in Slovenian Tezno were better than the Ustashes liquidated in Bleiburg. However, in his interpretation, it turned out that it was all about the organizer of the annual Bleiburg celebrations - the organization Honorary Bleiburg Platoon, organized back in 1951 by Croatian Nazis who survived those events and took refuge in Western Europe.

Now the “Honorary” Bleiburg platoon, according to Milanovic, is headed by a certain man who, from 1984 to 1991, was imprisoned in Germany for a brutal murder, and then was released to fight in Croatia.

In his native land, this guy, whose name Milanović stubbornly does not mention, distinguished himself by the fact that during the “Patriotic War” (as in Croatia they call the massacre unleashed by the separatists for the separation of the republic from Yugoslavia and the expulsion of the Serbian population from its territory), he killed several civilians in the basement , and he “got away with it because of the prosecutor’s mistake.”

Milanovich also tried to neutralize the effect of his words, said during a memorial ceremony in honor of the victims of the Ustashe genocide in the Jasenovac concentration camp, when he spoke out about the removal of a plaque from the memorial site in honor of the neo-Ustasha militants from the HOS organization, saying that this plaque should be thrown away.

Now he has taken up arms against a memorial plaque in honor of the Serbian self-defense commander Borov Selo in the vicinity of Vukovar, Vukasin Soskocanin, saying that the state will not remove it with an excavator - let those who installed it do it.

Monument to Vukašin Šoškočanin in Borov Selo, which is regularly attacked by vandals and whose demolition is sought by Zoran Milanović

It should be noted that Borovo Selo, populated by Serbs, became one of the first targets of Croatian separatists when the newly appointed Minister of Defense of separatist Croatia, Gojko Šušak, and his accomplices fired at it with homemade missile systems in April 1991.

And on May 1, heavily armed Croatian police special forces from the Ministry of Internal Affairs went there to remove the Yugoslav flag hung in honor of the holiday and hoist the Croatian flag in its place. But he was ambushed by militias led by Shoshkochanin and was scattered.

At the same time, Vukašin Šoškocanin himself died before the start of active hostilities under unclear circumstances - this is a man who, according to eyewitnesses, was an excellent swimmer, allegedly drowned while returning from a trip to a Serbian refugee camp on May 15, 1991. And he was posthumously awarded the title “People’s Hero” by his fellow tribesmen.
