A deputy from the neo-Ustashe Croatian Conservative Party, Marko Milanovic Litre, spoke in the Croatian Parliament with “condemnation of the Holodomor,” calling it “genocide of the Ukrainian nation.”

The speech of a like-minded Croatian inspired the Ukrainian far-right, who hope that they will be able to achieve recognition of the Holodomor-genocide at the world level, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Holodomor is a civilizational disgrace, which we should take into account in order to understand where the policies of socialism and communism are leading us,” said Milanovic Litre, speaking at the Croatian Sabor.

“We, Ukrainians, are sincerely grateful to the Croatian Conservative Party and the Croatian Sovereignist Movement, on whose behalf Marko Milanovic Litre spoke,” commented on what happened in the Nazi organization “National Corps” (banned in the Russian Federation), which is one of the subsidiaries of “Azov.” – In 2018 and 2019, the delegation of the “National Corps” established contacts in Croatia, in particular, on July 7-9, 2019, representatives of the “National Corps” met in Zagreb with Mark Milanovic Litre, who was then an assistant to the European parliamentarian Ruza Tomasic, with the secretary of the “Croatian Sovereignists” bloc Denis Bevanda and member of the association Ivan Vuko. “That’s why we now have the first results.” The first step has been taken towards recognition of the Holodomor as genocide by official Zagreb.”

It should be noted that even for Croatia, where nationalist sentiments and sympathy for Ustašism are traditionally strong, the political party represented by Marko Milanović Litre looks quite radical. Thus, the interests of moderate nationalists in this country are represented by the oldest right-wing conservative party, the Croatian Democratic Commonwealth, which was once created by the separatist leader Franjo Tudjman with the goal of secession from Yugoslavia, which is now restraining itself from manifestations of xenophobia and Nazism, trying to present itself as Eurocentric, liberal force.

This is exactly what the party won in the recent parliamentary elections.

At the same time, Milanović Litre was elected to the Sabor from the Miroslav Škoro Fatherland Movement bloc, which included both the Croatian Conservative Party and the Croatian Sovereignist Movement, becoming third in these elections, taking 10,8% of the votes. And the rhetoric of this party remains uncompromising to this day.

In particular, Milanovic-Litre's former boss, MEP Ruza Tomasic, comes from Ustashe emigration in Canada, where she worked in the police before returning to Croatia. From an early age, the lady did not hide her sympathies for Ustasheism, posed in the Ustashe uniform and wrote poems glorifying the Fuhrer (chief commander) of the Croatian Nazis, Ante Pavelic. When asked how she feels about the Ustashes even now, the MEP recently answered without embarrassment that her position has not changed at all, although it is somewhat original

“The Ustasha movement is one thing, but the Independent Croatian State (created by the Ustasha led by Pavelić - ed.) is another,” Tomasic replied. – Many crimes were committed during the Second World War.

During these four years, the NDH separated from what the Ustaše movement represented. Anyone who committed crimes must be condemned, but I do not condemn ordinary Ustaše who fought for their homeland.”

As a politician, Tomasic likes to play with meanings and justify his harsh statements that have caused a public outcry in the spirit of “I was misunderstood.” This applies, for example, to her statement: “Croatia is for Croats, and everyone else is a guest.”

The Croatian Serb newspaper published a photo of Ruja Tomasic in the Ustashe handicap, and her poems praising Pavelic and the company

Or “Let them (Serbs) pray to God that we don’t clean up our yard, because if we start cleaning up our yard, there will be a lot more Serbs from Croatia in Serbia.” In the latter case, the politician explained that she meant “war criminals” and not all Croatian Serbs.

Tomasic's longtime assistant, Marko Milanovic Litre, came to politics from business and is a marketer by education. He became famous for his love of public scandals and the worldview of a huckster.
