Bad weather paralyzed traffic in Crimea
In Crimea, snowfall and blizzard blocked traffic on the highway from Yevpatoria to the village of Mirny.
Passenger cars were stuck in snow jams, regular buses, and even a snowplow was washed out on the side of the road, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Car traffic on sections of the Shtormovoye-Mirny, Mirny-Evpatoria and Chernomorskoye-Znamenskoye roads was temporarily limited due to unfavorable weather conditions.
There are snow patches on the road surface from 20 to 70 cm in height, which prevent vehicles from passing. Cars stand waiting while a tractor clears the snow-covered road - an ordinary snow blower could not cope and drove onto the side of the road.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has opened heating points for drivers and passengers.
A total of 20 vehicles were freed from snow captivity.
The snowfall continues, and according to the forecast, for the next two days a blizzard and frosts will rage on the peninsula with the northeast wind increasing to 20-25 m/s.
Passages through the Angarsk and Grushevsky passes are open. The Tavrida track is cleared of snow around the clock, every hour the road surface is treated with industrial salt.
The condition of “Tavrida” is monitored by FKU Uprdor “Taman”. There are 11 units of special equipment operating on the Crimean Bridge. The operation of the Kerch ferry crossing has been suspended, and a storm warning is in effect in the strait due to wind gusts of up to 24 meters per second.
