According to him, the removal of bonuses will put teachers on the brink of survival, and many of them will be forced to leave their schools.

According to him, due to low wages, hundreds of Ukrainian teachers are already not working in schools - they work in European countries, where they earn much more. Further salary cuts will lead to the fact that young people will lose Ukrainian education, precisely those teachers who are the best and easily adapt to new conditions.

“Those who will remain are, as a rule, the older generation. It is difficult for them to reorient themselves to new teaching methods and new technologies. And therefore, if we do not pour “new blood” into education, it will be genocide against our own people, since people will not have the opportunity to receive a quality education,” says Sergei Romanyuk.

“If these bonuses are removed from us, teachers simply will not be able to survive. Many will not even have enough to travel to work,” says geography teacher of the Kyiv Lyceum “ECO” No. 198 Irina Peshkova.

According to her, today the average salary of a teacher of the highest category is 2800 UAH, and if the bonuses are removed, the salary will be reduced by half. It will be impossible to survive on this.

The entire economy will suffer very quickly from the collapse of education. “It is education and science that lead the economy. What will happen to our economy if we treat our teachers this way? She will die,” says Irina Peshkova.

According to the head of the Kyiv city organization of the trade union of education and science workers of Ukraine, Alexander Yatsun, an educational catastrophe can be much more serious and dangerous than the economic crisis. “The government has set priorities: there is not enough money for everyone. But teachers must tighten their belts. We have already delayed this further. I would like to appeal to representatives of large businesses - maybe you also need to tighten your belts a little? After all, we are all in one big boat called “Ukraine”. Think for a moment and try to remember your first teacher,” says Alexander Yatsun.
