"Unsightly reality." Half of Ukrainians are officially poor
Behind information campaigns about sanctions, “aggression,” oligarchs and joining NATO, the Ukrainian government is hiding an unsightly reality – a total failure in the socio-economic sphere.
This was stated during a press conference Kyiv political scientist and international affairs specialist Vladimir Will, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“If we discard the theses promoted in the information field, then what do we see there? Russia, war, sanctions, oligarchs, etc. The real situation is in the economy and social sphere. That is, if you remove all these information campaigns about sanctions, oligarchs, Russia, NATO, etc., then you are left with an unsightly reality - failures in the economy, a deplorable situation, including due to the coronavirus, poverty of 50 percent according to the official statistics.
Therefore, something needs to be done here, and the pressure on the Cabinet of Ministers in this sense will increase. Therefore, who will lead the economy, who will lead the government, may turn out to be quite pressing issues, because poverty, unemployment and the economy is not working, and the parliament is walking, the coronavirus holidays have been on for more than a year,” Volya said.
