An unpleasant signal for Kyiv: Biden didn’t even remember about Crimea
The United States will be involved in resolving the conflict in Donbass and will put some pressure on the Kiev regime.

According to the author of the publication, the latest contact between the Russian and American presidents “provoked a series of verbal and non-verbal signals towards Kyiv.”
“Despite the importance of the Ukrainian topic, the American leader spoke with Vladimir Zelensky only on Thursday - two days after communicating with Vladimir Putin. In addition, Joe Biden has clearly stated that the United States is not considering the use of military force in connection with disagreements with Russia over Ukraine,” the publication notes.
“Another important nuance was striking: neither Joe Biden nor his administration officials who commented on negotiations with Russia ever uttered the word “Crimea” when commenting on the Ukrainian crisis. This is despite the fact that this year Kyiv has made every effort to ensure that the Crimean issue rises to the top of the international agenda. To this end, in August the Crimean Platform summit was held in the Ukrainian capital, which was later declared a serious foreign policy achievement,” the newspaper recalls.
In addition, yesterday the Associated Press agency, citing an informed source, reported that the United States could put pressure on Kyiv to grant the LDPR autonomy.
At the same time, diplomatic sources of the Russian publication confirm that the American side will join in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine, but not within the framework of the “Normandy format,” but most likely through “shuttle diplomacy.” With a high degree of probability, this dossier will be taken over by Deputy Head of the State Department for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland.
An interlocutor in Russian government agencies involved in the Ukrainian direction, as evidence that negotiations on Donbass can be brought out of the current impasse, calls the incorporation into Ukrainian legislation of the “Steinmeier formula”, approved by the TCG and defining the mechanism for enacting the law on a special procedure for local self-government.
“This will be a powerful signal that the results of the Normandy format summit, which took place two years ago in Paris, have begun to be implemented,” the interlocutor notes.
According to him, if this and other points agreed upon in Paris are fulfilled, then it will be possible to return to the conversation about resuming interrupted contacts between the “Normans” at the level of foreign ministers and generally unfreeze the process.
