The Donetsk City Council said that on Saturday afternoon, September 6, there was shooting in several areas of the city, but by the evening the situation had calmed down, as reported on the City Council website.
A truce has been in effect in Donetsk since 18:00 Friday local time (19.00:XNUMX Moscow time), but both sides previously reported continued shelling. According to the headquarters of the militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, the sounds of shooting were heard during the day in the area of the city of Kirovskoye, east of Donetsk. According to preliminary information, sabotage groups were operating there, shelling the road leading to the city.
“At about 14.00 (15.00 Moscow time), residents began to receive reports that several volleys of large-caliber weapons were heard in the Leninsky, Kirovsky and Voroshilovsky districts. As of 18.30 (19.30 Moscow time), the situation in the city is relatively calm,” the message says.
The situation with energy supply in the city is also improving: according to city authorities, 50 transformer substations have become operational in the Kievsky and Petrovsky districts, in the Novorossiysk microdistrict and in the city of Mospino, but another 44 substations remain de-energized.
Restoration work continues on the gas pipeline in the Kuibyshevsky district; more than 800 apartments along Kremlinsky Avenue have been connected.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 5, at a meeting of the trilateral contact group in Minsk, a protocol was signed on an immediate ceasefire in Donbass from 18:00. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko ordered a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine from 18:00. The leaders of Novorossiya announced a similar order for their troops.
