Despite the sanctions: Sevastopol State University concluded a cooperation agreement with Berlin
Sevastopol State University entered into an agreement with the Berlin Technical University (BTU) on cooperation in academic and research fields.
“The main goal of this agreement is the development of academic mobility programs, that is, the exchange of students and graduate students. We have previously discussed the possibility that a group of German students will come to Sevastopol next summer to undergo training,” said Vladimir Pakhalyuk, head of the Department of Technical Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of SevSU

The agreement also provides for joint research and the organization of scientific conferences and seminars. “After the sanctions are lifted, a program for obtaining double diplomas can be launched. They want to work, but at the same time maintain legal relations with Ukraine. This agreement has been tested and is consistent with the sanctions,” Pakhalyuk said.
According to him, the initiator of the conclusion of the agreement between the universities was the head of the department of “Dynamics of Systems and Physics of Friction” of BTU, Professor Valentin Popov. Last summer, he got acquainted with the work of the department and laboratory of biomechanics and sent a letter to the rector of Northern State University Valery Koshkin.
“I realized that I was in the top ten.” The developments of the laboratory at your university are undoubtedly of the highest international class, and our areas of work turned out to be complementary. We immediately found a lot of areas of promising cooperation,” the letter said.
