“The Dutch opposition parties, one after another, report that they will not support the ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement even after the agreement reached by EU leaders in Brussels. This means that it will be difficult for Prime Minister Rutte to find a majority in the Senate to ratify this document,” сообщил on his Facebook page, the director of the Center for Eurasian Studies, Vladimir Kornilov, who lives in the Netherlands.
At the same time, in the comments to the recording, the political scientist clarified that the Dutch prime minister does not have a majority in the Senate, and he himself “already sees himself working in the EU apparatus as some kind of commissioner.”
According to Kornilov, Rutte is trying to push through ratification to demonstrate his value to a future employer, although in a referendum Dutch citizens said “no” to the agreement with Ukraine.
