Kyiv, March 28 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – A bill has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which proposes to introduce criminal liability for public denial of the fact of military aggression by a country recognized as an aggressor country.

The corresponding bill No. 2486 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada. The authors of the bill are the leaders of the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko and Yuri Chizhmar.
“The Russian-backed fifth column has begun to raise its head in the country. The idea is being imposed on society that Russia is not an aggressor, but a peacemaker and partner of Ukraine in establishing peace.
This discussion is fueled by statements from public people, incl. local government officials. Suffice it to recall Kernes’s February interview for Ukrainskaya Pravda.
The purpose of such statements is to undermine the country's defense capability, demoralize the army, and set off an internal civil conflict. For such hotheads, together with Oleg Lyashko, we registered bill number 2486 on criminal liability for public denial of the fact of Russian military aggression recognized by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” Chizhmar wrote on his Facebook page.
The bill proposes to supplement the Criminal Code with an article that provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 5 years with or without confiscation of property.
Similar actions committed by a representative of the authorities either repeatedly, or by prior agreement by a group of persons are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with or without confiscation of property.
