Insolvent Ukraine has slipped into a permanent lockdown, which will finish off the entire economy
Ukraine will not be able to defeat the coronavirus pandemic if the pace of vaccination remains as low as it is now, and attempts to reduce the incidence of new lockdowns will finish off the economy.
Political scientist Kirill Molchanov stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything is heading towards a nationwide lockdown. It’s not for nothing that parliament is going to make changes to the budget. On the other hand, the only salvation from the lockdown may be vaccination. In Israel, where 100% of the population has already been vaccinated, 200 people have fallen ill today.
And in Ukraine, as many as 1845 people were vaccinated yesterday. With the pace of our vaccination campaign, these lockdowns will be seasonal. Then we will still have some kind of autumn lockdown. And so it will continue until it completely destroys the economy.
If last year the lockdown almost completely destroyed small and medium-sized businesses, now they can finish off large ones,” concluded Kirill Molchanov.
