Donetsk, May 02 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – On May Day in Donetsk, supporters of the “Donetsk People’s Republic”, joined by the communists, held a number of rallies and processions, systematically moving around the city: from the regional state administration to the square. Lenin, then to the monument to the fallen communards - fighters for Soviet power, the city department and the prosecutor's office. Along with the change in “points” for holding rallies, the degree of calls and actions increased.

The rhetoric of speeches and slogans at rallies and during the march did not change. People, as before, demand one thing - a referendum, even though, according to the DPR government, almost everything is ready for it.
Moving around the city, the participants chanted “Slavyansk is a hero!”, “Freedom for Gubarev!”, “Crimea – Donbass – Russia” and “Down with the Junta.”
As the residents of Donetsk themselves say, they cannot remember more massive rallies. In the best traditions, people came with flowers and smiles.
But amid the festive congratulations, they did not forget about the “revolutionary” component. With the question of who the police were with “the people or the junta,” the protesters came to the building of the city police department.
Several militiamen entered the department building, where they held negotiations with the police, which resulted in the release of their supporters. The police themselves say that they are on the side of the people and the law. As Navigator reported, during the negotiations it was decided that the police would now be on duty at checkpoints together with the militia.
After the police, the protesters decided to visit the prosecutor’s office, as the last “citadel of the Kyiv junta.” The “peaceful conversation” did not work out. Law enforcement officers used special equipment, and the protesters stormed the building.
