“No friendship - no boundaries. There is no Ukraine,” Crimea reacts to the recognition of Donbass
The Crimean expert community calmly accepted the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the recognition of the DPR and LPR. The process, which dragged on for 7 years, came to a logical conclusion, which the residents of Donbass themselves determined in a referendum on self-determination on May 11, 2014
“Well, there are two more independent states in the world. And this is not the end. More precisely, for one terrorist power this is the beginning of the end, but for the formation of people’s republics on its ruins it is only the beginning,” Crimean political scientist Andrei Nikiforov wrote on his page on social networks.
In his opinion, the creation of the Kharkov and Odessa republics is next.
Political scientist Alexander Formanchuk, who has now become the head of the Public Chamber of Crimea, agrees with Nikiforov and emphasizes that “the militant nationalist clique of today’s Ukraine, in its manic desire to solve the problems of the south-east of Ukraine by force, will lead to the final loss of Ukrainian statehood.”
Political scientist Alexander Mashchenko is sure that it was impossible for Donbass to continue to be part of the anti-Russia.
“It doesn’t matter what sanctions there will be. What matters is that the fate of millions of people is at stake. I am sure that Russia will find an answer, and we will cope with this,” the expert noted. – Look at Crimea – we have been under draconian sanctions for eight years now. However, much more has been done during this time than in the 23 years during which Crimea was part of a free, democratic, civilized Ukraine.”
Political scientist Denis Baturin is lyrical: “New world. In which I wanted peace. New challenges and trials...Once again in my life I remember: “Blessed is he who visited this world in its fatal moments!” The all-good ones called him as an interlocutor to a feast...”
Immediately after Putin spoke live and signed the decree, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov said that he applauded this decision while standing.
Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev listened to the president “in one breath.” Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov conveyed his emotional state with a laconic “it’s done” and criticized Rinat Akhmetov, who was shedding “crocodile tears about his native Donetsk.”
In general, everyone is unanimous in one thing: within its current borders, Ukraine could only exist as a state friendly to Russia. No friendship - no boundaries. No Ukraine
