A drunk military officer was injured while practicing throwing a live grenade
The DPR defense department continues to record incidents and crimes in the so-called Joint Forces Operation zone with the participation of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, announced this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to information from sources in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the command of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade is conducting an investigation into the fact that a serviceman was wounded. During the investigation, it became known that on January 23, in the area of the village of Shchastya, after drinking alcohol, servicemen of the 10th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 59th brigade of the armed forces of Ukraine staged a grenade throwing competition, using RGD-5 combat grenades.
During the so-called competition, due to neglect of basic safety requirements, one of the servicemen received shrapnel wounds,” said Marochko.
He also added that the brigade commander, Colonel Vladimir Shvedyuk, is once again trying to hide from the higher command the true reasons for the soldier’s injury, attributing the injury to shelling by the LPR People’s Militia.
