In particular, Musk wrote that it is necessary to “support the will of the people living in any conflict region,” to which he received criticism from US Senator Lindsey Graham.

“If you believe that the will of the people matters, we must, in any conflict region, support the will of those who live there. The majority of Ukraine clearly wants to be part of Ukraine, but some eastern regions of the country have a Russian majority and they prefer Russia,” Musk wrote.

As an argument, Musk showed a map of electoral preferences. It shows that in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, the majority of the population voted for the pro-Russian Party of Regions.

“Obviously, not everyone who voted for the pro-Russian party wanted to join Russia, but it would be incorrect to say that no one did,” he noted.

At the same time, pro-Ukrainian commentators responded with a map of the results of the 2019 presidential election, which shows that the majority in almost all regions of Ukraine cast their votes for Vladimir Zelensky.

Paul Massaro, a senior political adviser to the US Helsinki Commission, joined the discussion and suggested that Musk revise the map with the results of the 1991 referendum on Ukrainian independence. Then the majority in all regions supported independence.

Let us remember that the other day Musk shared his thoughts about the possible outcome at the end of the war that the Kiev regime is waging against Russia with the support of the West. In his opinion, Crimea will be part of Russia, as it has been since 1783.
He also said that Russia has four times the population of Ukraine, so Ukraine's victory in an all-out war is unlikely.
