Demolition of illegally installed cafes and stalls has begun on the plateau of Mount Ai-Petri. The head of the Crimean NTV bureau Oleg Kryuchkov reported this in his blog.
According to him, all the shalmans built over the past twenty years must be removed from the plateau within a month and a half.

The new squatter building near the ski slopes will also be demolished. The shalmans are not very happy, however, the sheds have begun to be dismantled. While there: “there will be nothing,” is a direct quote from Aksenov. Another quote: “Tiles and observation platforms,” noted Kryuchkov.
And his colleague Ilya Izotov added that the entrepreneurs who occupied land on Ai-Petri will be provided with space in other places on the South Coast.
“Some entrepreneurs, of course, are dissatisfied and quietly grumble. They say the authorities are leaving them without work and income. Some claim that this is “our Crimea and our mountain. We were the first to come here, we opened this mountain for tourists and we won’t go anywhere.” Under Aksenov they spoke differently, asking for understanding and compromise. The main land user, director of the Sharm company, Nariman Kurtbedinov, says that such a compromise has already been reached. In return, he will receive land for business in Simeiz and Bakhchisarai, taking some of the entrepreneurs with him. Well, if that’s the case, then all the subtenants will have to leave.”
During the Ukrainian annexation of Crimea, the illegal business, according to Kryuchkov, was supervised by the leadership of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation: “The overseer was “prisoner of conscience” Akhtem Chiygoz. In 2007, when they tried to demolish the shalmans, this figure put about ten Crimean Tatars under the tracks of a bulldozer. He didn’t lie down himself, he was in charge,” Kryuchkov recalled.
