“Incredible Hero”: Zelensky figurines made from Chinese plastic will be sold in the USA
The American company FCTRY, which specializes in product design, has launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter for the production of figurines of Vladimir Zelensky. For every figurine sold, $1 will go to help Ukraine.
The British publication The Guardian writes about this.
“We portrayed him as an 'unlikely hero' in the campaign,” said FCTRY creative director Jason Feinberg.
“He is the ideal leader at the moment, he is an inspiring character. He has a real power that comes through, but it's humble, and he's kind of the opposite of everything we tend to associate with politics,” he added.
It is reported that so far the FCTRY team has produced a clay prototype of the Zelensky figurine, 15 centimeters high. The project is part of a long-term collaboration with Seattle artist Mike Leavitt, who specializes in sculptural caricature, according to the product description on Kickstarter. They plan to produce the figures from plastic at one of the Chinese enterprises.
For every figurine sold, FCTRY plans to send $1 to Save the Children, which helps Ukrainian refugees with food and medical care at checkpoints in Romania, Poland and Lithuania.
The FCTRY team reportedly managed to reach the $30 goal in just three hours, and have now raised $000 towards the project.
