Sad pictures: NABU drew a diagram of how Yatsenyuk’s associate embezzled Ukraine’s budget
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has unveiled a scheme for embezzlement of funds in criminal proceedings at the State Enterprise “VostGOK”, in which ex-People’s Deputy Nikolai Martynenko and Deputy Chairman of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Sergei Pereloma were informed of suspicion.

As the investigation established, the Bureau added, among other things, the funds were spent on renting real estate in EU countries for the needs of family members of the suspects, paying for medical services, and the services of lawyers to defend the suspect in another criminal case that the Swiss prosecutor’s office opened against him.
On April 20, 2017, NABU officers detained former People's Deputy of Ukraine Nikolai Martynenko. He was informed of suspicion of creating a criminal organization (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code) and misappropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position (Part 1 of Article 255 of the Criminal Code).
On the same day, NABU detectives, under the procedural guidance of SAPO prosecutors, detained a second person on suspicion of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 255 (creation of a criminal organization), Part 5 of Article 191 (embezzlement, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official provision) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
On April 21, the head of SAPO Nazar Kholodnitsky announced that the second person involved in the criminal proceedings against the State Enterprise “VostGOK”, in which suspicion was handed over to Martynenko, is the deputy chairman of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Sergei Pereloma.
According to investigators, the state-owned enterprise VostGOK entered into a contract with an intermediary company controlled by the detained ex-people's deputy for the supply of uranium concentrate at inflated prices, as a result of which the interests of the state enterprise were damaged in the amount of $2014 million in 2016-17,28 USA.
