The American edition of The New York Times corrected the image with a map of Ukraine in its November 3 article about Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington.

Thus, on the map published in the article, Crimea was separated from Ukraine by a solid black line - the “border”, and differed in color. Now Ukraine and Crimea do not differ in color, and in place of the “border” there is a dotted line.

Earlier this week, the Ukrainian embassy in Washington called on The New York Times to correct the mistake and “not play into the hands of Russian information propaganda.”

“The Embassy once again appealed to the editors of The New York Times with an appeal not to make mistakes in depicting Crimea on the map of Ukraine and not to play into the hands of Russian information propaganda. The American publication again used a map with a clear violation of the internationally recognized border of Ukraine in one of its latest articles - “A Disgraced Ukrainian Oligarch's Bizarre Ski Resort Plan“- says the statement of Ukrainian diplomats.

The embassy noted that they are counting on “a prompt response from journalists from an influential publication, which is designed to convey the truth to the American and world public.”
