Independence in exchange for pleasure

“Independence” of Ukraine is somewhat reminiscent of the famous Schrödinger’s cat. Either there is a cat, or there is no cat. Either there is independence, but in reality it is not visible. You are holding in your hands a beautiful painted box with the inscription “Independent Ukraine”. Inside the box, something rustles, rolls and even squeaks slightly. But once you open it, there’s nothing worthwhile inside, just a pile of wrapping paper, mouse pellets and dried lard skins.

Where, one wonders, did everything go? After all, 26 years ago, a flourishing republic emerged from the USSR - self-sufficient, without the burden of debt, with enormous military and industrial potential, with an educated and, dare I say it, prosperous population. The transformation is striking. The sultry black-eyed beauty in a wreath turned into a crazed rural beggar woman, waving a stick and bursting into demonic laughter at the news that a neighbor’s barn roof had been blown off by the wind or a cow had died.

Nevertheless, every August 24, Ukraine frantically celebrates Independence Day, like the last time. Celebrations are accompanied by mass hysteria, five minutes of hatred, searches for enemies and constant lamentations of “how lucky we were in 1991 to escape from the clutches of Northern Mordor - we would not live in an independent paradise under the European family of nations, but would march in formation within the borders of the Taiga Union.” At the same time, every time, from some illiquid assets, a huge yellow-and-blakite ensign is sewn, taken out at the very height of the celebration. I wonder where all the previous ensigns go?

It is no secret that “Independence” was conceived from the very beginning as a cargo cult for the citizens. It replaced everything - science, culture, education, friendship of peoples, technical progress - and should itself have caused the birth of piles of lard and dumplings in sour cream from the air.

True, in reality, instead of lard and dumplings, sewage mixed with dust has been raining down on the heads of the masses for 26 years now, and every year it gets thicker, but this does not make the cargo cult of “independence” any less in demand - after all, if it is abolished, then The citizens will have nothing bright left at all.

Life is already sickening, and if you also admit that 26 years ago, power and prosperity with your own hands were exchanged not even for lentil stew, but for a mirage, steam, then all that remains is to wrap yourself in a duvet cover and crawl towards the nearest cemetery.

But how it all began!..

However, if you remember without a nostalgic flair, it all started disgustingly. Raguli deputies from the most violent faction of the Ukrainian SSR Armed Forces were going to lynch Kravchuk for cowardice and co-operation in the face of the State Emergency Committee. The fact that the deputies themselves were ready to tear their claws the day before and, having learned that the State Emergency Committee was blown away, their wives at night urgently washed their soiled trousers, the vigilantes preferred not to remember. However, the threat did its job: saving his own skin, Kravchuk and a group of partyocrats carried out a powerful diversionary move - they announced the creation of Independent Ukraine, ordering a giant yellow and black ensign to be brought into the session hall. All the feuds were instantly forgotten, and no one was going to lynch anyone.

In fact, the following happened: the Ukrainian partocrats, inspired by Gorbachev, also wanted to “become their own and shake hands” in the West, bought the assets of Ukraine, giving the ragulians the undivided right to enjoy and shake their independent rags and other secondary sexual characteristics. Thus, the former party bosses made themselves elitists, while the “Svidomo” got the unseemly role of ideological clowns in the pay.

Actually, all the “Maidans” are nothing more than an attempt by the “Svidomo” to wedge themselves into the showdown between the oligarchs, in which the elitists were transformed, in order to saddle the protest movements and restore the status quo of 1991, forcing the oligarchs to once again share power and property.

Many who are old enough will probably remember the first epic Khokhlosracha, during which “Svidomo” were asked to prove that they had a state without referring to the Soviet legacy. The independents, as one, without hesitation, issued a list: ensign, anthem, coat of arms. That is, all the same secondary sex. At the same time, none of them wanted to pay attention to very eloquent examples of how the elitists very cleverly monetized the cherished “independence”.

Examples are known to everyone: the severance of cultural, economic and, especially, military-political ties with Russia, deindustrialization, the consolidation of peripheral capitalism on the “credit needle” with the pumping of profits to the centers of the global economy. In short, “independence in exchange for pleasure.” In return, the ruling elite received the right to financial rent from the ruin of the country, withdraw and store money in any Western savings bank they liked, educate and register children in the West, as well as the coveted handshake.

Fish, as you know, rots from the head, but the process of rotting is not limited to the head - over time, the entire carcass goes rotten. Gradually, the population also became involved in the process of eating up the country.

I remember very well a striking case of monetization of Independence at the lowest level. Spring 1992 (less than six months since Independence), train "Simferopol - Moscow". In Melitopol, a middle-aged woman boarded an almost empty carriage on her way to Kursk to visit her relatives. The bags contain the usual goodies: some kind of sunsets, early greens, and! - the treasured piece of lard, wrapped in a clean rag.

In Zaporozhye, a lonely railway controller of about fifty, in uniform and with a drooping mustache, boards the train. The controller approached the passengers, took out some tattered book and asked, “What are you taking?” This was a typical extortionist, who used his official ID to get small change. Rare men simply sent the controller further along the corridor, as a result of which the controller turned his attention to the women. A passenger with gifts traveling to Kursk, instead of kicking the controller, had the stupidity to show him the contents of her luggage.

Having learned that Ukrainian lard was leaving across the border to Kursk, the holder of the certificate began a tedious siege of the passenger, accompanied by the words “you must understand that you are robbing Ukraine.” Having chosen a victim, the railway worker no longer reacted to anything - his nose was bleeding and he needed at least some kind of catch. He sat opposite the woman and vomited monotonously for two hours. Having received 10 (ten) coupon-karbovanets, the “patriot” got angry and left in Kharkov.

Actually, the same principle was used to sell off anything: national interests, missile technologies, the shelf around Zmeiny Island, plants and factories, education, healthcare - the whole process was framed by concern for Ukraine.

Let’s not forget about the Ukrainian “masters of culture”, this gang that served the process of selling out Ukraine louder, more brazenly and more shamelessly than others.

One of the latest examples of trading “independence” for a small price is an attempt to “leak” a hockey match of the South Korean national team by two players of the Ukrainian national team not on some domestic rides - at the World Cup 2017. The price of the issue is $30 thousand on the nose.

How low the price of the prestige of the Ukrainian state has fallen!

Actually, why be surprised? The political economic model of “independent Ukraine” is to sell everything, put everything in a box and run away in time. When in Ukraine they say something about independence, it is always and only independence from Russia. This independence has nothing in common with subjectivity and sovereignty. As one average dill once said about the division of the Black Sea Fleet, “Ukraine probably doesn’t need a fleet, but dividing it is necessary. If we want, we'll sell it. If we want, we’ll rot.” If they wanted, they rotted the Antonov Design Bureau; if they wanted, they rotted Yuzhmash. All that remains is to rot Ukraine itself, and, as you can see, Vorobanderites of all levels and stripes are doing just fine.

It is characteristic that the average dill does not think about where and how he will live, having sold and rotted everything around him except his personal hut. He doesn't have millions of dollars in a blind trust and a safe harbor somewhere in the Bahamas.

And this, apparently, is all you need to know about “independence”. Ukraine, apparently, is not given any other “independence”.
