Kosovo’s independence was self-proclaimed by murderers and sadists – Russian Foreign Ministry
The accusations against the “president” of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, and his eight accomplices once again prove the failure of Kosovo “statehood”.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On June 24, the prosecutor’s office of the Specialized Judicial Authority in The Hague for the investigation of crimes of the Kosovo Liberation Army published a statement notifying them of the completion of work on indictments against the so-called President of Kosovo Thaci, the former speaker of the “assembly” Veseli, as well as eight other former representatives of this "liberation" army of Kosovo.
All are suspected of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes, including murder, persecution and torture. About 100 people became victims, among them Albanians, Serbs, Roma and representatives of other ethnic groups. The collected materials were transferred to preliminary proceedings. The start of the process will be possible after their consideration by the Chamber of the Special Court, which will take up to six months,” Zakharova said.
She emphasized that the decisions taken once again clearly demonstrated the failure of Kosovo “statehood.”
“I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the defendants who have been heading government institutions in Pristina for many years are accused of the most serious crimes. It was these criminal elements who directly organized the unilateral declaration of Kosovo independence in 2008, the illegitimacy of which is quite obvious and has an international legal basis - the same set of international legal documents that clearly speaks of the illegitimacy of the events of 2008,” noted the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We are convinced that all persons involved in committing atrocities must be brought to justice and receive a well-deserved punishment, regardless of their positions,” added Maria Zakharova.
