“Independent” Zelensky has already gotten into a dialogue with Putin
Despite the lack of direct dialogue between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, they have already entered into communication, exchanging media messages.
Perhaps the two presidents will agree not only on something that everyone expects from them, but also on the maximum rapprochement between Russia and Ukraine, which is a nightmare for Western “rogue friends.”
This optimistic opinion was expressed on the Rossiya-1 TV channel by Ukrainian political scientist Vasily Vakarov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are observing a dialogue, albeit such a unique one, but we are observing a dialogue between Russian President Putin and elected President Zelensky. If people say: “We can agree, let’s agree,” sooner or later they will agree on something. So, I also hope that’s what it’s about.
In the 90s, I then took it as a joke, we had a lot of different information about how we would be friends with Russia. So, there were two requirements: first, that the second state language should be Ukrainian; the capital should be in the city of Kyiv,” he noted.
The host of the program, political scientist Sergei Mikheev, joined his words, saying that after the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine and Russia could coexist as a confederation, but the West did not allow such a scenario to take place, because discord was more profitable for them.
“I don’t know whether you are aware or not, but when the Soviet Union collapsed, which undoubtedly was a disaster, but after that, in fact, there was a small, microscopic chance to create something integrational, but quite conflict-free. So, when a huge number of documents were discussed, according to which, among other things, the defense space was preserved, the financial space was preserved. The main emission center could be Kyiv. Kyiv could issue a common currency for this space, despite the fact that it would be some kind of very soft confederation.
But what did these nationally oriented elites do then? They brought it all down. This is the first one. And who else brought it all down? Our “mischievous friends” are from Europe, from America, because they realized that “this won’t work” thing, it’s important for them that we fight, understand,” the presenter summed up.
