A New Year's tree was erected in the Ukrainian capital, which is an exact copy of last year's holiday tree in the center of Moscow.

“The main Christmas tree of Ukraine haunts citizens even after hat scandal. After the grand opening of the tree in Kyiv, people on social networks noticed that the Ukrainian New Year tree was very similar to the tree that was installed in Moscow last year. In the video on Youtube you can see that the Ukrainian New Year’s beauty 2021 is almost a copy of the Christmas tree that Russians enjoyed last year,” the publication notes.

In addition, Kyiv journalists point out, on Instagram you can find many photographs of the Christmas tree, which was placed on Manezhnaya Square in Moscow in December 2019.

“Of course, this idea with kilometers of garlands around the Christmas tree is not new at all. At the same time, in light of complex relations with Russia, such imitation looks as if we are following in everything the heels of the “big brother” that the Russian Federation wants to look like,” Glavred laments.
