Not a single hotel or bar can hide from the National Council: the hunt for Russian TV continues
Kyiv, August 22 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – Not a single hotel, club or recreation center can hide from the vigilance of Ukrainian officials, who have banned the broadcast of Russian TV throughout the country.
The head of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, Yuriy Artemenko, spoke about this at a briefing.

“The forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs joined our work to stop the retransmission of programs from banned TV channels. At the level of district inspectors, we will reach every hotel, every recreation center, every entertainment establishment, so that there is no broadcast of channels, in particular, Russia-24, Russia-1, and all the others, which we have already talked about more than once. To implement this decision, today I signed an order regarding the cooperation of representatives of the National Council,” he said
He said that representatives of the National Council will work in each region and interact with deputy heads of regional departments on public security issues. The management of hotels where prohibited TV channels are broadcast will be subject to claims for carrying out unlicensed activities.
“Hotel broadcasting can occur in three ways - either through an agreement with a program service provider that has a license, or by obtaining its own license, or by concluding an agreement with the owner of the program for public display. Otherwise, we are talking about unlicensed activities or activities in violation of copyright law by the hotel management. Either enter into an agreement with the provider, or become a provider yourself, or enter into an agreement with the owner of each program, which is practically and theoretically impossible,” said Yuriy Artemenko.
He did not name a specific time frame within which it is expected to reach each place of mass recreation, although he hopes that this period will be short. “We understand that this cannot be done quickly with one or two representatives of the National Council on the ground,” he said.
