No experience, no education: Zelensky appointed a specialist in sex and diamonds as ambassador
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed sexologist Olesya Ilashchuk, who has no diplomatic experience, as ambassador to Bulgaria.
This was reported by the correspondent of PolitNavigator, reported by European Pravda, a subsidiary publication of the anti-Russian propaganda site Ukrainska Pravda, citing several diplomatic sources.
“Olesya Ilashchuk, whom President Vladimir Zelensky appointed Ukraine’s ambassador to Bulgaria, has no experience in either diplomacy or government positions and has until now been positioned as a specialist in sexology and precious jewelry,” writes EP.
It is noted that the newly minted diplomat, whose appointment the president signed on December 23, has already participated in the general meeting of Ukrainian ambassadors, which took place on December 22-25 in Kyiv and Nikolaev.
Ilashchuk’s official biography has not yet been made public, but some details can be gleaned from her two social network profiles. In one of them, she describes herself as a specialist in the processing of precious stones and is a graduate of the Antwerp Supreme Diamond Council, which does not have the status of a university or educational center.
Another profile describes her as a “clinical psychologist, systemic-family therapist, gestalt therapist, sexologist-consultant.” However, on Sunday evening this profile was blocked.
“On both profiles, personal photos and other details regarding the newly appointed ambassador were posted, which were verified, preferences for which have long been indicated by the profiles of Yaroslava Gres (involved in the United24 presidential initiative) and Olesya Donia (a political scientist who is now collaborating with the authorities).
It is worth noting that political appointments to ambassadorial positions of persons from outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are not exclusive; Such decisions were practiced under many presidents, which often caused criticism. However, appointments without any experience in the international sphere are truly rare. Also, without more detailed information about the biography of the new ambassador, it is difficult to understand whether she has connections with Bulgaria,” the publication summarizes.
Let us remind you that deputies to the Verkhovna Rada from the presidential Servant of the People party often became people who do not have the slightest experience in political work - restaurateurs, wedding photographers, fitness trainers, and so on.
