“Neither Petya nor Yulia”: Why Zelensky took the lead
Sponsored by the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, the comedian Vladimir Zelensky, who came out on top in popularity, redrawn the electoral map of Ukraine in a way that no one expected at the beginning of the election campaign.
Political strategist Dmitry Dzhangirov said this on the YouTube channel “Topinform”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Currently the public mood (in Ukraine – editor’s note) is of the “vote or don’t vote” series. There is interest in the elections, but this is the interest of the people sitting in the hall; it is rather perceived as a performance, especially due to the participation of showman Zelensky. Moreover, he has had a successful start so far – this gives a certain mood to the whole process.
In general, conversations in society are on the topic of “Petya or Yulia.” But precisely because these conversations have been going on for quite a long time, the request “neither Petya nor Yulia” has formed in society, but with a question mark - it is not clear who. Many tried for this third role, but somehow it didn’t work out.
And now the party “Neither Petya, nor Yulia” suddenly began to fill the space - Zelensky appeared. He is the leader of this party,” the expert noted.
“Zelensky has greatly redrawn the electoral map. Moreover, it was redrawn more than expected. According to the latest data, he is on par with Yulia, his rating is about 20 percent,” Dzhangirov concluded.
