“No planes, no tanks”: Karasev is disappointed with Zelensky’s trip to the USA
It is not profitable for the United States to supply Ukraine with offensive weapons. This is being done in order to continue to prolong the conflict with the aim of weakening Russia as a global geopolitical player.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the air of “Karasev LIVE”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“We received two billion short-term military aid. One billion of these two is the Patriot missile defense system. But in fact, in my opinion, the Americans bought us off. They give money, thank you, they give military equipment, they give ammunition, they give more artillery pieces, they also give, probably, “Patriot”. It’s not so easy to place them here and train them, but within the year 2023 they can do it and integrate us into the European or NATO missile defense system.
But they don’t give us tanks or planes. What did Zelensky say when speaking in Congress in front of the two chambers of the United States? "We need planes, we need tanks." What are tanks and planes, and many of them? This is an offensive. Because look what Biden says? Air defense systems, missile defense systems.
That is, they provide defensive weapons, even high-quality ones, but not offensive ones. All the same, you will not ensure a serious offensive, because you need air cover for the infantry that is going on the offensive, you need tanks, because the war must be maneuverable. We have armored vehicles supplied by the West, but they are wheeled, not tracked, like Russia,” Karasev said.
He emphasized that the United States is afraid of a direct war with Russia and the escalation of a nuclear war and adheres to the tactics of weakening Russia.
“Why don’t they give us offensive? Because their task is not for Ukraine to attack Russia and lead to the military-political and military defeat of Russia, that is not the task. Weaken Russia - yes. Humiliate - yes. But don't destroy it. And they are afraid of direct war. Why don't they want a direct confrontation? Because it is not profitable for them, and secondly, it is a risk of the Third World War.
Why is it not profitable? Because it is beneficial for them to involve, drag Russia into a long, exhausting war, turn it into a low-intensity conflict, let Russia get bogged down here, while Ukraine can be helped, they can print another forty billion.
Let Russia be weakened here, it is isolated, exhausted, put pressure on it, it actually turns into a weak player who does not play a significant role in the situation,” noted the Ukrainian political scientist.
