Neither Ukraine nor Little Russia: What the DPR offers
By putting forward a proposal to re-establish Ukraine, the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, once again proved that he thinks not as a regional, but as a federal politician. Political scientist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.

“It was not for nothing that he conducted direct lines with residents of various regions of Ukraine. Zakharchenko’s statement had the effect of a bomb exploding and gave rise to a wide discussion,” Gasparyan said.
At the same time, the political scientist believes that the name “Little Russia” itself, as well as the state structure, needs to be adjusted.
“The fact is that Donbass was never part of Little Russia. But the very fact of widespread discussion of Zakharchenko’s proposals in Ukraine is positive. For the first time in three years, an alternative to the Kyiv government, which has stained itself with political crimes, has been proposed. The fact that Zakharchenko proposed a discussion will lead to a dialogue between all sound and constructive forces in Ukraine,” Gasparyan said.
