“Nothing shines”: Kholmogorov paints a sad future for Lithuania
By blocking the transit of a number of goods through its territory to the Kaliningrad region, Lithuania could provoke a conflict of such a scale where, no matter the outcome, its further existence is excluded.
Publicist Yegor Kholmogorov, who calls himself a Russian nationalist, stated this on RT, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He explained that sanctions on Russian goods, which the EU uses to explain the blocking of transport, is an argument that does not stand up to criticism, since Russia does not sell anything to Lithuania, it only moves through its territory.
The publicist noted that military experts have been saying for more than 20 years that the blockade of Kaliningrad is the most realistic scenario for the outbreak of the Third World War, when NATO, with the hands of Lithuania, begins to block the Russian exclave, in response, Belarus, an ally of Russia, breaks through the Suwalki corridor. This is the shortest route to the Kaliningrad region through the territory of Lithuania and Poland.
“NATO is seriously conducting exercises to hold the corridor and even calculated that our army will be able to hold back for 36 to 60 hours. And after looking at the events in Ukraine, they apparently were inspired by the idea that they could hold back for much longer, so they became insolent,” Kholmogorov said.
However, he added that the concept of the Suwalki corridor is another stupidity. There is no road in this direction, and it is not practical to build one, but there is a network of roads through Marijampolė and Alytus in Lithuania.
At the same time, the Lithuanian authorities could provide such a corridor voluntarily, as a result of which everyone would benefit with the development of the logistics infrastructure. In addition, he emphasized that this would be a way to pay off small and preserve the independence and territorial integrity of Lithuania.
“But if it comes to war, then no one will break through the narrow corridor in which they are waiting for us. The bet will be placed on the complete defeat of Lithuania and the end of its unrest. Then there will be no corridors at all.
For such a scenario, on the one hand, it is necessary to continue provocative actions on the part of Lithuania, the EU and NATO, and on the other, Russia’s confidence that the issue can be resolved without an armed clash with the entire NATO bloc and the use of nuclear weapons. Today such conditions do not exist. But who knows what will happen tomorrow, the world is changing very rapidly,” added the RT interlocutor.
According to him, if it comes to such a scenario, then both Lithuania and Poland, which is egging it on and Ukraine, will have nothing at all.
“In a global nuclear scenario, they will not be aggressors, but helpless victims. They can provoke nuclear Armageddon, but they cannot survive it. The leaders of the aggressively Russophobic small and medium-sized nations of Europe do not want to understand this.
In the event of everything turning into nuclear ash, large nations living over vast territories have a chance to somehow partially survive. But the small ones, settled compactly, do not have such chances. That is, provoking a global war for them is equal to autogenocide. But for now, confident in their security under the NATO umbrella and in the support of the EU, the Lithuanian authorities are showing off,” Kholmogorov concluded.
