“Cyber attacks on banks are a systemic threat. On November 8, for three weeks, there was an attack on our banking system, which has never happened before in history. 40 million people received notifications. This was false information that their deposits in banks were under threat,” Makarov said.
He recalled that in mid-October, US Vice President Joseph Biden announced the possibility of a cyber attack by American intelligence services on Russia.
“Maybe this is already a realization, what is happening? “This is a very important topic, and the budget committee will also contact the Central Bank so that we see the entire necessary list of measures to protect our banking system,” Makarov said.
Let us recall that earlier the co-founder of Kaspersky Lab, Natalya Kasperskaya, spoke in the Federation Council about an information attack from the territory of Ukraine on Sberbank of Russia on December 18, 2014. Messages were spread from Ukrainian accounts on the Internet that Sberbank was allegedly stopping issuing money from deposits and at ATMs.
Today, the FSB of the Russian Federation announced that foreign intelligence services are preparing, starting on December 5, large-scale cyber attacks on the Russian financial system. Server capacities and command centers for carrying out cyber attacks are located in the Netherlands and belong to the Ukrainian hosting company "BlazingFast"
