Nitsoi complained that Ukrainians do not respect the language and the country
The lack of desire among Ukrainians to speak the Ukrainian language can only be explained by disrespect for the “language” and the history of Ukraine.
Ukrainian nationalist writer, notorious Russophobe Larisa Nitsoi said this on Channel 4, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Some people, some Ukrainians still don’t know our history. And we still haven’t read about how Ukrainians were persecuted for their language, for their ethnic characteristics, and the ethnic characteristic of a Ukrainian is, first of all, the language; if you speak Ukrainian, that means you are Ukrainian. How they destroyed our elite, namely the Ukrainian-speaking one, who worked for Ukraine, for its glory, how we were always persecuted for our language,” Nitsoi lamented.
At the same time, she emphasized that there are no Ukrainians in Ukraine who do not know the Ukrainian language.
“Everyone knows the Ukrainian language, but not everyone can speak it. Let's say an old grandmother who lives in the mountains may not be able to speak Ukrainian. However, all those born in Ukraine after 91, and before 91, who went to school in 91, all these children learned the Ukrainian language in schools.
Therefore, other than disrespect, I cannot explain in any other way the lack of desire to speak Ukrainian in my country,” the Russophobe lamented.
