Prostrate in rage: Russian speech in Ukraine is a sign of success and prosperity
Despite the ongoing Ukrainization, films and TV series in Ukraine are still shot in Russian. This “corrupts” Ukrainian youth, who look at the rich lives of Russian-speaking TV movie characters and think that this is a factor in success.
The odious Ukrainian nationalist writer Larisa Nitsoi stated this with indignation on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“And the cinema! Our movies and TV series continue to be filmed in Russian. All movies on television are shown in Russian. Actors, couldn’t you all strike a pose together? Well, you can’t stand in front of the producers, hands on hips, and say: “We will not further popularize the Russian language. Because all the children look at this cool movie, at all these mansions in which we film, at our expensive outfits.”
Thank God, I already believe them, because before I sat and played an actress who was some kind of daughter of an oligarch and sat in a blouse and skirt that looked like she was not the daughter of an oligarch at all. And I had to believe that she was the daughter of an oligarch, from some second-hand market.
Now it’s beautiful jewelry or expensive jewelry, beautiful dresses. And it’s all in Russian, these expensive houses are in Russian, and these cars come, everyone speaks Russian, and they talk about their business in Russian. And all children in Ukraine understand that if you want to go to high society, you need to speak Russian. And there is no end to this,” Nitsoi is indignant.
Thank you!
