The Dutch Foreign Ministry announced the start of an investigation against Ukraine
Five years after the crash of MH17 in the Donbass, the Dutch government, under pressure from parliament, will officially find out why Kyiv did not close the airspace over the combat zone.
Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok stated this during a joint briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Prystaiko, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Dutch Parliament has asked the government for more information regarding the closure of airspace over eastern Ukraine at the time MH17 was shot down. This is a request to simply investigate the facts, this is not some kind of legal investigation. Moreover, this investigation should also clarify the situation with the closure of airspace in the surrounding areas, including the territory of the Russian Federation. I am confident that our cooperation will continue in a certain way both in terms of the MH17 investigation and in all other projects,” said Block.
