No DPR or LPR, but the reunification of Donbass with Russia - Strelkov
Kyiv, December 18 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) - The population of Donbass, rising up to resist the Kyiv troops, initially did not want the independence of the DPR and LPR, but advocated reunification with Russia. Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov stated this on the Polit-Ring talk show.

“The local population does not support and never has supported the idea of separate DPR and LPR. At the very beginning, the slogan of the militia and all the protesters was precisely reunification with Russia. When I was accused of using the tricolor as a flag, I can honestly say that we didn’t bring a single flag with us, they were all local,” Strelkov said.
According to him, Russia must support Novorossiya, expand and protect it up to its inclusion in its composition. Otherwise, having lost Novorossiya, Russia will lose Crimea and its sovereignty.
“After Novorossiya is abandoned, troops will be withdrawn from there, and the power of the junta will be restored there, immediately, according to the full concept of the law adopted by the Rada, something that is not hidden by any media, the situation will be mirrored in Crimea. Having won, they will try to repeat this in Crimea. And, believe me, they will repeat it. And then we will return to the same rake on which we danced. Following this logic, so that people do not die, it will be necessary to surrender Crimea, and remove Russian citizens from there. What comes next? The overthrow of Putin and the Yugoslav scenario repeated. And after that we will get the 1917 scenario, independent Yakutia, Chukotka and so on. Novorossiya must be defended and the war won,” Strelkov said.
