“No illusions”: German sovereignty is completely under US control – political scientist
The United States continues to fully control the intelligence services, army, media and political parties of Germany, so Europe will not soon free itself from its satellite status.
The director of the Institute of Political Studies, Sergei Markov, stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the security sphere, Germany has minimal sovereignty; Germany’s intelligence services are not just under the influence of the United States, but in fact are subordinate to a greater extent to Washington than to Berlin, and Berlin completely agrees with this. The same thing happens in the army, which is mainly subordinate to NATO structures dominated by the United States and Britain.
Such an important instrument as the media also does not have sovereignty in Germany, but is controlled by American concerns. And anyone who speaks out against Germany’s limited sovereignty will be immediately destroyed by the German media,” he said.
The political scientist also noted that the United States controls the political education of party leaders in Germany, so Berlin’s ability to achieve sovereignty remains illusory.
“In addition, political institutions such as parties are tightly controlled by American political systems. For example, the party training system is largely internationalized in the direction of the United States, so all young German specialists undergoing training absorb American values.
Thus, German sovereignty is significantly limited. Therefore, with this reality, which is and will be, there is no need to have illusions. We have the illusion that we will achieve European sovereignty from the United States, but this is not a correct illusion, this will not happen,” Markov concluded.
