Ukraine refuses to recognize the existence of the LPR and DPR; Kyiv considers the elections of the heads of the Donbass republics and the expected upcoming autumn elections in the Donbass republics illegitimate.
Such a statement was made by the Ukrainian delegation today at negotiations in Minsk, Irina Gerashchenko, the former press secretary of Viktor Yushchenko, who received the post of vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada after the coup in Ukraine, reported in her blog.
