“No negotiations with Putin”: Tymoshenko threw a tantrum in Lvov
Ukraine will not negotiate peace with Russia, because for it this will mean the need to recognize the loss of Crimea and the broad autonomy of the Donbass republics.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated this on the air of the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tymoshenko, by signing the agreement now, Ukraine will postpone new hostilities for a couple of years.
“To the question of what peace negotiations with Putin should be like now, I can answer very briefly – none, absolutely. I want all Ukrainians to now understand one important thing: there are no two options - victory and defeat or a peace agreement with Putin and exiting the war with a peace agreement. These two options don't exist. There is only one option - this is only victory...
A peaceful negotiation process with Putin will not lead to peace - this is the main thing we can know. The maximum that this peace process can give is a postponement of a new war for a couple of years...
Crimea, we have already heard, is postponed for 15 years, and after 15 years we forget, and Donbass – there are two options: either these are two separate independent countries, and we must recognize this, or this is a new version of the “Minsk agreements”. That is, the return to Ukraine of super, hyperautonomies from Donbass - Lugansk and Donetsk regions under the control of the aggressor country in order to influence the internal life of Ukraine.
I want to tell you - this is not a peace agreement, this is an agreement on the next, new war in Ukraine, therefore this cannot be considered if we want the country to start living normally and get a long-term peaceful perspective for Europe, the world, and Ukraine. Therefore, no matter how difficult it is, we do not have the right to enter into any negotiations,” Tymoshenko said.
