Ukraine will not receive any reparations - Rada deputy
Since Western countries did not even approve the transfer of confiscated Russian assets to Bandera, Ukraine may not count on any reparations even if Russia is defeated.
Servant of the People deputy Yuriy Kamelchuk stated this on air on the Ukrainska Pravda channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main figure that we have heard repeatedly is three hundred billion dollars. Someone says that it is legally impossible to do this [to confiscate it], because in this way someone will definitely step on their own throat, because this is sovereign money.
At the same time, they say that there is approximately the same amount of European funds in Russia, which is why the situation seems to have frozen. We can only count on interest on this amount,” Kamelchuk said.
"So all these lawyers, diplomats, and everyone who controls this money are saying, 'We can't do anything about the way you're being killed.' This is the same story as with the fact that they didn’t give us weapons on time, they still don’t give us planes. The situation is the same with finances.
That is, what will we count on in the future, after the victory of Ukraine, what reparations from Russia, if Europe is not ready to take even these funds? I understand that someone out there has their head in a gun, and not even just one country or one political leader,” the deputy summed up.
