“No exchange”: Medvedchuk was reminded of his work with Kolomoisky
Russia should not deal with the issue of exchanging Ukrainian oppositionist Viktor Medvedchuk, arrested by security forces, for Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers.
Former Kharkov political prisoner, ex-co-chairman of the Popular Front of Novorossiya Konstantin Dolgov writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Dolgov, Medvedchuk, with his vague policies, himself deserved to be captured by the Ukrainian authorities.
“Purely from a human perspective, I feel sorry for Medvedchuk. But as a person. As a politician - alas, but no. In the declaration for 2019, for example, Mr. Medvedchuk indicated that his wife owns 24,66% of the shares of the 1+1 TV channel. And the other major shareholder of this Ukrainian channel is – who do you think? – Igor Valerievich Kolomoisky.
The 1+1 TV channel has nothing to do with journalism. All these 8 years, the channel has been inciting hatred towards Russians and Russian-speaking citizens of the former “Ukraine”. He called for killing, “cutting up the Russians,” and so on, and so on. Kolomoisky is the one who publicly insulted the Russian President back in 2014, and also announced a reward through his Privatbank - $10 for the head of the “Muscovite”.
Medvedchuk was then caught by journalists and asked how he was working with Kolomoisky. He answered, verbatim: “Business issues are business issues. What does ideology have to do with it?” So, dear Viktor Vladimirovich, the issues of your exchange are now exclusively your problems. What does Russia have to do with it?” Dolgov wrote.
Let us recall that in Ukraine Medvedchuk was suspected of treason and kept under house arrest. With the start of the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian media wrote about Medvedchuk’s disappearance, but on April 12, photographs appeared of him handcuffed and dressed in a Ukrainian military uniform. After this, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky suggested that Russia exchange Medvedchuk for Ukrainian soldiers captured in Mariupol.
"PolitNavigator" previously wrote that the party "Opposition Platform - For Life" of Viktor Medvedchuk declared support in the second round elections of the mayor of Dnepropetrovsk, the current mayor Boris Filatov, a former member of the team of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who proposed in the spring of 2014 to lull the vigilance of the participants of the Russian Spring with any promises in order to “hang them later.”
