“No Putin!” – Zmagars are counting on riding the wave of popular anger in Belarus
If the current head of state, Alexander Lukashenko, once again wins the presidential elections in Belarus, nationalists will organize mass protests in the cities of the country.
Co-chairman of the Belarusian pro-Western solidarity movement “Together” Elena Tolstaya stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We saw how indignant Belarusians took to the streets of Minsk, to the streets of every city in Belarus, we see that this is the indignation of people, it is simply impossible to contain it. Therefore, it is not difficult to predict that after Lukashenko’s Central Exhibition Commission announces the results, which no one has trusted for a long time, that people will take to the streets of Belarusian cities.
This is a wave that cannot be contained by any means. Our goal, the goal of the Belarusians, is to show that this is not just some crowd on the streets of Belarus, the people of Belarus take to the streets of Belarus. And no matter how they try to denationalize this process, Belarusians come out with their national symbols, with white-red-white flags, with Pagonya (the coat of arms of the nationalists), with the slogan “Live Belarus.”
And our business, the business of Belarusian nationalists, is to be close to the people, to put forward our slogans, and these are absolutely simple slogans: “Freedom for Belarus,” “Freedom for political prisoners,” “No elections with Lukashenko,” Tolstaya said.
The nationalist also emphasized that if force is used against the protesters, the whole of Belarus will plunge into strikes and non-payment of taxes. At the same time, she continues to impose the propaganda stamp on the opposition that Lukashenko is allegedly at one with Putin.
“This fight may not end one day - it may not end on the 9th. Especially if Lukashenko and Putin, and we will not forget that Moscow’s interests are present here and they have not gone away, and we understand that Moscow’s intervention is quite possible, and it has already been demonstrated.
And in the event that Lukashenko, with the help of Putin, uses force against the Belarusian people, we have one thing in our plans - this is a strike, this is a strike, this is a comprehensive, nationwide strike, this is a campaign of non-payment of taxes to the budget,” the zmagarka inflamed.
