“There will be no exchange” – the Kremlin responded harshly to the proposal from Kyiv
Crimea is a Russian region and is fully provided with everything necessary, including water, and there is no talk of any exchange of Crimea for Donbass, which was proposed by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, cannot go.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for Crimea, it is a Russian region. Within the framework of existing development programs, water supply to the region is also ensured. If there are any proposals for additional water supply, commercial or otherwise, they may be considered. Crimea cannot be the object of any exchanges, there is no question of this.
As for Donbass, this is an internal Ukrainian problem, and we are doing everything possible to facilitate its resolution,” Peskov noted.
He also emphasized that to resolve the conflict in Donbass, Kyiv must establish a direct dialogue with Lugansk and Donetsk.
“The topic of border control must first be discussed with representatives of Donbass, with representatives of the two republics. Without making this contact it is very difficult to say anything. For now, we can assume with a high degree of confidence that they will be against changing the essence and essence of the Minsk agreements, which also cover the visas of representatives of these two regions,” added Putin’s secretary.
