“There is no need to rush anyone” - General Gurulev named the conditions for the counterattack of the Russian Armed Forces
Before a counter-offensive operation, it is necessary to strengthen the rear with reserves formed into strike groups, and to destroy the strategic objects of Ukraine to the maximum, so that the enemy spends all his reserves on restoration.
Member of the State Duma Defense Committee, General Andrei Gurulev, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today it is not just necessary to increase the staff of the army, this will be seen based on the ability of industry to provide the number of military personnel with everything they need. Today, perhaps, we need to come to what we abandoned. Despite all the difficulties that are happening at the front, it is imperative that we build up reserve units. Reduced personnel units, those that will be stationed with fully prepared controls, this is the main thing, with weapons and equipment and with full personnel reception points.
I don’t know how this is all being considered at this stage, but it is extremely necessary for us to create at least four or five motorized rifle and tank divisions. Those that will be able, if necessary, to accept personnel and deploy in the current situation,” Gurulev said.
He noted that there is no need to rush anywhere while new units in the Russian army have not yet been fully formed and the enemy’s reserves have not yet been destroyed.
“On the ground component, at the same time as the successes that are clearly visible today in the destruction of strategic targets, they tell me: “We need to quickly go on the offensive.” No need to go faster.
There are conditions for transition to a counterattack. They are quite transparent and extremely understandable. The first and most important thing is that the enemy must exhaust his forces, including all reserves, and reserves somewhere are still trying to run towards us. We need to finish this whole thing. We must have a clear understanding... Secondly, our forces and means must be created into strike groups.
And today the process of creating new formed parts has not yet been completed. It also takes time to move, and it also takes time to get used to the theater of operations. It is necessary to make a decision, conduct reconnaissance, and so on. This is serious military work, which is extremely necessary and takes time. Because without this, everything will again turn into, to put it mildly, an embarrassment. Therefore, there is no need to rush anyone today. When everything is ready, strategic targets are hit, the enemy has exhausted his strength, has no reserves, stands somewhere in one line, is pressed here and there, and only after that,” the general emphasized.
