No one will allow Ukraine to annul the Minsk agreements
The only thing on which there is a national consensus in Ukraine is the Minsk agreements. Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.

“Everyone considers them unnecessary. Opponents of the current regime proceed from the fact that it would be wonderful if a war with Russia began. Russia would quickly take over the current regime, and everything would be fine in the country. The current regime considers the agreements unnecessary because within their framework it cannot resolve the issue of the reintegration of Donbass. The implementation of these agreements poses a threat of destabilization for him,” Ishchenko said.
Therefore, the political scientist believes, the government will try to use the “de-occupation of Donbass” law adopted today to de-actualize the Minsk agreements. However, no one will allow Ukraine to do this.
“As long as the Ukrainian state exists, appeals to Europe for money, and to the States for weapons, it will have to play by the rules. They can delay and sabotage the implementation of the Minsk agreements as long as they want, but no one will allow them to cancel it. Another point is that the existence of the Ukrainian state is already so formal that it could cease at one moment. Then there will simply be no one to implement the Minsk agreements,” Ishchenko said.
