Low turnout in Ukrainian elections is a consequence of the lack of candidates capable of changing the situation for the better
The low turnout in local elections in Ukraine means that people did not see among the candidates people who could somehow change the situation and be effective managers. Oleg Voloshin, the former head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated this on the air of News One.

According to him, voters saw no prospects for change.
“They didn't see the chance that participating in this election would bring change. Unfortunately, we still do not have a culture of electing managers - we are always electing a messiah. But the Messiah was not here. That's why people didn't go. If they really elected a mayor, a person who would answer what would happen to the garbage and traffic jams, then it wouldn’t matter what the turnout would be - in Europe, local elections traditionally do not cause a stir,” Voloshin said.
