The question sounded like this: “Vladimir Vladimirovich, do you personally know the names of those who ordered the murders of Politkovskaya and Nemtsov?”

“I did everything to solve these crimes. And the corresponding instructions and orders were given to all law enforcement and special services. It is known that people are in prison for crimes committed, and there are opinions that they are not the customers, there are opinions that the customers are left behind the brackets somewhere, that they are hidden or have hidden, but the investigative and inquiry authorities do not yet know this. But they did everything to expose those responsible for these crimes. And some of them died during the arrest,” Putin replied.

The president also noted that if there are customers behind the murders of Politkovskaya and Nemtsov, who are not yet known to the investigation, then they will be looked for.

“Now it remains to see how the search for him will be conducted. Let's see where this leads, we'll return to this question later: after the president's answer, the investigation into Nemtsov will resume, the investigation into Politkovskaya will resume or not. Let’s look at the degree of the president’s influence on the country’s law enforcement agencies,” Muratov commented on President Muratov’s response on the air of the same Echo of Moscow, apparently believing that society is still concerned about this topic.

Journalist Maxim Shevchenko believes that by not inviting Muratov, the Kremlin reacted to his Nobel speech, in which the editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta enthusiastically denigrated Russia.

“This is a position. This is also a sign that we must also decipher as an extremely negative attitude towards Muratov’s speech,” Shevchenko said.
