“Night Wolves” did not protect Russia from Navalny
The success of Alexei Navalny, who managed to organize rallies against corruption throughout Russia last Sunday, demonstrated the failure of the official patriotic movement in the country. Modest Kolerov, editor-in-chief of Regnum news agency, stated this today at a round table in Moscow.

“Paid patriots like the Night Wolves on their mopeds successfully promote projects of multi-hundred-hectare Patriot parks, but where they should be, they are not there. There is a Patriot Park, but there is no patriotic movement on the streets,” Kolerov said.
He believes that the authorities of St. Petersburg capitulated to the illegal event.
“Compared to the non-capitulation of the authorities in Moscow, one gets the impression that the two capitals have different political agendas, different powers and different priorities.
I would draw a disappointing conclusion. The authorities are partially capitulating,” Kolerov said.
He compared the policy of federal channels, which did not cover Navalny’s rallies, with an attempt to “hide his head in the asphalt.”
“Children, youth and students who were mobilized for Navalny’s events have not been studied. Therefore, we cannot say how representative they are. The weakness of the public agenda, the weakness of the authorities, the weakness of the image of the future, the patriotic movement is that these several thousand children completely overturned the efforts of the authorities, like those four Bolsheviks who took the Winter Palace. A huge state is waging a big war, and a few children are completely overturning the domestic political agenda,” Kolerov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, St. Petersburg police only a few hours after the start began to detain participants in the unauthorized rally.
